Slovenský olympijský dom - Maison Slovaque in Paris is located in La Villette Park in the northeast of Paris. It is easily accessible by all means of transport. After Vancouver 2010, it is again open to the public. It comes to the Games of the XXXIII Olympics in Paris with an important mission – to create a background for the Slovak Olympic team and to present Slovakia as a fascinating and diverse country with original traditions and folklore. It is also a place for friendly meetings of those who want to celebrate the successes of Slovak athletes.
Everyone who opens the “doors” of Maison Slovaque will feel authentic emotions. The taste and smell of the national cuisine will win them over, and they’ll feel goosebumps from the dancing and singing and will be captivated by Slovak traditional crafts. All the architectural elements in Maison Slovaque were created especially for this occasion. They are made of wood, which symbolises tradition, while their design represents the present, modernity and functionality. The space is dominated by the colour blue – symbolic of the Slovak national team.
